How should I start a tank of discussion?

Raised catfish (red tail catfish, pleco), goldfish and cichlids (Red Devil, oscars) that are too easy to take care and I want to address some quiet and gentle fish like discus. How many gallons do i need and how I care i for fish and i can mix with it?
